Our Philosophy

At GHI our approach to executive coaching is different and you should know what you're getting into before you choose us.

The Problem. We think the problem with most executive coaches is they’ve learned how to coach through academic training programs. As a result, you'll get the program your coach was trained in. You'll spend time on one of the current personality evaluation systems and then do some reflection exercises designed to improve you. At GHI we help you improve your people. Why? Because you can be the best of the best, but if your people don't perform, you’ll fail. If you could choose, would you want a better you in five years, or would you want a better team in five years? If you chose the team, then we want to work with you.

The Ideal Client. We’ll help anyone who needs help, but our ideal client is not the struggling executive. Our ideal clients are top performers who are not satisfied with just being good enough. We work best with talented leaders who are hungry to improve the people around them because they know outcomes depend on everybody, not just the leader. Top performers who put the team first and want to ensure no stone is unturned - that’s the client we seek. 

 

The Focus. At GHI most of what we do is grounded in the phrase “Forgive me for saying what a teacher must.” Why? Because it’s about performance. And world-class performance only comes from honest feedback which leads to action. When you receive coaching from GHI, every interaction is consequential and no time is wasted with assessments or hypotheticals. Every interaction examines the way you think about people and takes you a step further towards unlocking potential in others.
